This course is designed to educate Therapists & Perinatal Providers both new and seasoned on infertility and the emotional impact infertility has on individuals and couples.

Course Objectives

By the end of this training, participants will be able to:

Describe the fundamentals of infertility, including prevalence, common causes, treatment options, third-party reproduction, and considerations for diverse populations.

Identify at least three emotional and psychological impacts of infertility, fertility treatment, and reproductive loss on individuals and couples.

Apply at least three practical strategies, tools, or resources to support individuals and couples navigating infertility and family building.

Identify key ethical and legal considerations relevant to providing care and support to individuals and couples experiencing infertility or pursuing fertility treatment.

Identify at least three infertility and family-building resources or support networks that may be appropriate for client referral.

Differentiate situations that can be supported within a provider’s scope of practice from those that may warrant referral to a fertility-informed mental health professional.
